German Judaica<\/p>\n<p>(Hebrew: \u05d0\u05d4\u05e8\u05df \u05d9\u05dc\u05d9\u05e0\u05e7 Aharon Jelinek; 1821 in Drslavice, Moravia \u2013 28 December 1893 in Vienna) was an Austrian rabbi and scholar. After filling clerical posts in Leipzig (1845\u20131856), he became a preacher at the Leopoldst\u00e4dter Tempel in Vienna in 1856.<\/p>\n<p>Life and work<br \/>\nHe was associated with the promoters of the Wissenschaft des Judentums, and wrote on the history of the Kabbalah[1] in the tradition of Western scholarship. Jellinek is also known for his work in German on Abraham ben Samuel Abulafia, one of the earliest students of Kabbalah who was born in Zaragoza in capital of the Kingdom of Aragon in 1240.
